DisplayFormat

Class: TEgFireGridColumn

property DisplayFormat: string;

The display format of a number or date / time column, with the syntax of FormatFloat for numbers and of FormatDateTime for dates and times, as a field’s DisplayFormat.

Until it is assigned, it is the field’s own DisplayFormat, which the field already applies to its text, read from the dataset each time. Assigning it gives the column its own value (cvDisplayFormat in AssignedValues); RestoreDefaults goes back to the field’s. An assigned, non-empty format replaces the field’s in this column only; the field itself is not changed. It has no effect on text, boolean, memo or picture columns, and none on the editor, which always shows the value in the form it is typed (the field’s EditFormat, or the plain value).

Grid1.ColumnByFieldName('Price').DisplayFormat := '#,##0.00 ' + #8364;  // euro sign
Grid1.ColumnByFieldName('CreatedAt').DisplayFormat := 'dd/mm/yy';
