RowSource

Class: TEgFireGrid

property RowSource: TEgFireGridRowSource;

Read-only, run time only. The object through which the grid reads and writes its data. With a DataSource it is the grid’s own dataset source, created with the grid; its class is declared in the unit EgFireGrid.RowSource.

An application uses it to read the data of the rows the grid shows, by window row (0 = the first row shown, as the RowIndex of the events), without moving the dataset:

Member Use
Active: Boolean Whether there is data to show (the dataset is open).
GetValue(RowIndex, FieldName): Variant The value of a field in a window row; Null when there is none. The usual way to test another field of the row in OnBeforeDrawCell.
GetWindowRowCount: Integer How many rows the window holds (fewer than VisibleRowCount at the end of the data).
GetActiveWindowRow: Integer The window row of the active record, -1 when there is none.
GetRowId(RowIndex): TEgFireGridRowId The identity of a window row (with a dataset, its bookmark).
GotoRowId(Id): Boolean Makes the row of an identity the active record; False when it no longer exists.
IsRowIdValid(Id): Boolean Whether an identity still names a row (a deleted record’s does not).

The other members are the grid’s own interface to its data, not meant to be called by an application: scrolling, editing and posting go through the dataset, as usual.
