Class: TEgFireGridColumn
property DataKind: TEgFireGridDataKind;
The kind of data the column shows, which decides its cells and its editor:
| Value | Cells | Editor |
|---|---|---|
fgkText |
The field’s text | Text box (a date or time field: its text, or the date picker) |
fgkNumber |
The field’s text, aligned right by default | Text box that accepts only the characters of the number |
fgkBoolean |
A check box | None: the box is toggled directly |
fgkMemo |
The memo’s text, up to MemoMaxChars
characters |
Multi-line editor |
fgkBlob |
A picture, when the bytes are one (see DetectBlobImages) |
None |
Until it is assigned, it is the kind of the field (a memo field is
fgkMemo, a graphic or BLOB field fgkBlob, a
boolean fgkBoolean, the numeric types
fgkNumber, any other type fgkText), read from
the dataset each time. Assigning it gives the column its own value
(cvDataKind in AssignedValues);
RestoreDefaults
goes back to the field’s. A column with no field is
fgkText.
Assigning another kind changes the cells and the editor the column uses; the field itself is not changed. A memo field is always edited in the multi-line editor, whatever its column’s kind.
