Assign

Class: TEgColumn

procedure Assign(Source: TPersistent); override;

Copies this unit’s own additions - the nineteen overridable properties (only those actually set on Source, per its AssignedValues), ImageIndex, TitleImageIndex, ImageAlignment, TitleImageAlignment, SubTitle, SubTitleFont, and all ten event properties - in addition to whatever the inherited TColumn.Assign already copies (FieldName, Width, Alignment, Color, Font, Title, and so on). Without this override, duplicating or reordering a column at design time (which goes through Assign) would silently drop every per-column override back to “follow the grid” on the copy.

Follows TColumn.Assign’s own pattern: calls RestoreDefaults first (clearing everything to “follow the grid”), then copies each of the nineteen overridable properties only if Source.AssignedValues shows it was actually overridden there - duplicating a column that never touched CheckKind, for instance, does not manufacture an override on the copy. ImageIndex/TitleImageIndex/ImageAlignment/TitleImageAlignment/ SubTitle/SubTitleFont and the ten event properties always copy unconditionally, since none of them has an AssignedValues-tracked “resolved default” concept.
